I would like to invite you to take part in a poll dealing with chat rooms and cyber relationships. The statistics that I come up with from this poll will be used in a group presentation in one of my college classes (Society and Technology).
I would be quite grateful if you would take a moment to fill out this survey. I will not use your username for any purpose. I just need the numbers. Everyone's answers will remain anonymous, and no one can view the results but me. Please be as honest as you feel comfortable with.
Feel free to comment and give me any further insight that you may have. I would also love any more community recommendations to post this survey into.
Thank you for your time!!

On average, how much time do you spend in chat rooms per week?
Do you use chat rooms to meet or talk to single people for relationship purposes?
How many people have you met in real life based solely on your online relationship?
Of the people you have met from the above question, how many were not truthful in their description of appearance/age/sex/ethnicity, etc.?
Are you currently in a successful relationship that began via the internet?
Have you ever lied excessively about your appearance to someone online that you've never met in real life? (i.e. different sex, large difference in weight, sent them a picture that wasn't you, etc.)
Have you ever trolled chat rooms just to mess with people's heads (sexually)? (i.e. "He looked lonely/easy/desperate, so I pretended to be interested to get a rise out of him, then I left")
If yes to the above question, how often do you/have you done this?
On the whole, would you consider your online experiences positive or negative?
